WTIC/WTXX-TV POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Interactive Content Manager DATE: 01/26/09
DEPARTMENT: Creative Services
REPORTS TO: Director of Creative Services
ROLE: Create, edit and manage updated editorial content for fox61.com and wtxx.com.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Selecting and enhancing fresh, audience-focused content for online presentation
* Preparing and editing text; writing compelling headlines, teasers and story summaries; and selecting, editing and posting eye-catching photographs and video
* Promote our most interesting material by any means possible
* Teach colleagues how to blog, podcast, Twitter, etc.
* Perform other job related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
* At least two years' professional website production experience, with a proven ability to work quickly and accurately using an advanced Web content management system
* Creative, energetic, self-starter with a sense of urgency and experience in a fast-paced production environment
* Understanding of the web and ability to create content for the web
* Good attitude and team player
* Ability to multitask and effectively communicate in a deadline-driven setting, and adapt constructively to change
* Familiar with basic HTML and highly proficient with Microsoft Office and image-editing software such as Adobe Photoshop
* Ability to collaborate with on-air designers to integrate a seamless look from television to the web. Flash experience is a plus, but not required.
* Must be familiar with a broadcast television station environment and have experience with non-linear video editing.
