1. Willoughby Spit -- Convenient, central location allows easy access from many points in Hampton Roads. Croaker, spot, flounder, striper, bluefish and trout frequent the area.

2. Lynnhaven Inlet -- Fishers can find puppy drum, flounder, and trout in calm waters close to Virginia Beach.

3. Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel -- Far enough from shore for big striper and enough protection for large schools.

4. Rudee Inlet -- Easy access to offshore fishing, Virginia Beach and the Intra-Coastal Wateray.

5. Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel -- Has a central, inshore location that protects small boats in wind and bad weather.

6. Poquoson Flats -- has bay grasses and beaches for saltwater fly fishing. Fishers often find needlefish, flounder and trout here.

7. Concrete Ships -- One of the best spots for cobia and Spanish mackerels.

8. Gwynn's Island -- Has an artificial reef built by Old Dominion University. Tautog, spot, and flounder frequent here.

9. Norfolk Canyon -- Serious anglers can find white marlin and tuna in this deepwater spot.

10. Mobjack Bay -- Far from heavy boating traffic, between New Point Comfort and the Guinea Marshes. Here fishers find the usual suspects: flounder, trout, croaker, and striper.
