CHESHIRE, Conn. -
A woman was killed and an off-duty state
trooper was injured when their motorcycle collided with a car in
Cheshire.
Police say the trooper was driving the motorcycle and the woman was a passenger when the accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday on Route 322. Authorities say they were not wearing helmets, which are not required in Connecticut.
The trooper is reported in stable condition at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.
The driver and a passenger in the car were not injured, but the driver had to be extricated.
Police have not released the names of the people involved in the accident.
The cause is under investigation.
