EAST HARTFORD - A Manchester man has been charged with murder in last week's fatal shooting at a candlelight vigil for a homicide victim.

Police charged Tyshawn G. Case, 30, of Emerson Road, with murder, first-degree assault and other charges early this morning while he was in custody on unrelated charges of violation of probation, Officer Hugo Benettieri said. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Manchester today, he said.

On July 1, investigators say, Case pointed a gun at Brian Rivera's chest and pulled the trigger during a fight that broke out at the vigil over a dog. Two others were injured by gunfire, police said.

The day after Rivera's death, police arrested Anthony Boyd Williams, 32, and charged him with criminal attempt to commit murder and other charges. Police don't expect to make any other arrests in connection with Rivera's death, Benettieri said.

They are actively investigating the death of William Castillo the day before, he said. Castillo, 35, was shot several times June 30 in his first-floor apartment.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Jason Smola, 860-291-7541.
