EAST WINDSOR — - A masked man entered the Bank of America branch on Bridge Street Monday afternoon, jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The man didn't use a weapon — he grabbed money from an open drawer and fled on foot, East Windsor Detective Chester Aseltine said.

"It went very fast," he said.

Several employees and customers were inside the bank when the robbery took place at 3:45 p.m., but no one was injured.

Though the robber didn't use a weapon, "it was certainly intimidating to anyone who works there or was a customer," Aseltine said.

Police have no suspects. Aseltine declined to release the amount of money stolen.

The robber was described as a white male in his early 20s, medium height and build, who wore jeans and a dark hooded sweat shirt. He also donned a mask that covered the lower half of his face, possibly a Gator neoprene mask, Aseltine said. Officers believe he acted alone.

Police are reviewing video surveillance footage. Members of the FBI Task Force in New Haven are assisting the investigation.
