BERLIN -
A car accident in Berlin sent one car into a house, causing a gas leak.
The accident happened at the intersection of Farmington Ave and New Britain Road in the Kensington area of Berlin. One of the cars involved plowed through the basement wall of a home, striking a gas meter.
Fire crews evacuated a one block area of homes and businesses surrounding the accident as a precaution. Utility crews responded to turn off the natural gas line and isolate the leak.
The extent of the accident victims' injuries is unknown. Witnesses say they saw emergency crews pull a woman from the car that struck the house and transport her to the hospital.
Residents of the area are expected to be allowed back in their homes and businesses by 6pm.
