MERIDEN -
Three were hospitalized Sunday morning after a fire in Meriden seriously damaged a two-family home.
According to Assistant Chief Finnegan, the Meriden Fire Department spent most of the morning at 21 Prescott St. after receiving the call at 1 a.m.
The 2-alarm fire sent three of the home's occupants to Midstate Medical Center, where they were treated for smoke inhalation.
Finnegan says the fire caused significant damage to the home and will force the tenants to relocate. The Red Cross was called in to assist them.
The scene was cleared shortly after 6a.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
