MIDDLETOWN - Fire officials are still trying to figure out what caused an overnight fire in Middletown. The home is a total loss expect for the garage, but no one was injured.

At 2:37 a.m. South Fire District fire crews responded to 135 Training Hill Road where they found a home that was fully-involved. Within four minutes, fire crews called for a second alarm. Fire crews were only able to fight the fire from the outside. The fire was extinguished in about an hour.

Fire officials said that the only resident was able to get out of the house. A neighbor alerted him that his house was on fire. The home was badly damaged and the roof collapsed.

Durham, Middlefield, Middletown also responded to the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
