PLAINVILLE - Residents of one Plainville neighborhood dealt with a massive interruption of their normal routine Wednesday when a gas leak forced them to evacuate.

The Plainville Fire Department says the leak was caused by an excavator on West Main Street shortly after 9 Wednesday morning on West Main Street. The street was closed between North Washington Street and Bohemia Road for five hours.
