The search is on for a 71 year man who walked away from the Connecticut Valley Hospital Friday night.
Fred Concannon, a longtime resident of CVH, was last seen at 9:30 Friday night. Shortly after, employees at the hospital realized he was no longer at the facility.
Concannon served time in prison decades ago on manslaughter charges. He has walked away from the CVH facility at least one other time, in 1998.
A Hospital spokesman says Middletown Police and State Police were contacted immediately, and a teletype message sent to surrounding towns. Today, as in 1998, the Hospital states that Concannon is not considered a danger to others. However, they say, he could be a danger to himself.
Fred Concannon is white, 5'8'' tall, and weighs 165 lbs. He has grey hair, green eyes, a fair complexion, and was last seen wearing dark pants, dark shirt and sneakers. Anyone who sees Mr. Concannon should contact police immediately.
