Conn. judge OKs DNA sample from Plainville suspect
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut judge has approved a prosecution request for a DNA sample from the suspect in the Valentine's Day killing of a Plainville woman.
Investigators got the sample Monday from 28-year-old James Carter of Bloomfield. Carter is accused of stabbing 25-year-old Tina Notice, an ex-girlfriend, outside her home.
Authorities say Notice had visited Plainville police a few hours before she was killed to report that Carter was violating a restraining order by continuing to bother her.
Carter has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges including criminal violation of a restraining order, criminal trespass, harassment and making a false statement to police.
