DeAndria Turner joined FOX 61 as a reporter in April 2022.

DeAndria is from Gautier, Mississippi. She likes to say it’s as far as down south as you can possibly go until you hit the water. (It really is.)

Before arriving in Connecticut, DeAndria worked in Huntsville, Alabama as the chief bureau reporter for the Shoals area. DeAndria’s covered everything from the impact of COVID-19 on rural communities and businesses to the first police-involved shooting in the Shoals area in over six decades.

She feels that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools to affect change. With her unique connection to the industry, she is on a mission to bring truth to power through equitable storytelling while being creative along the way.

She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in broadcast journalism and a double minor in African American studies and English in May 2020.

DeAndria is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. When she's not covering a story, DeAndria’s catching up on her favorite TV shows or checking out new restaurants
