Sara Sanchez joined the FOX61 team in April 2022. A California native, Sara moved to Connecticut after working as a news anchor in Palm Springs for nearly five years.
She began her career in Montana, working for a statewide morning show for KULR-8 and ABC Fox Montana. While in Montana, she covered gubernatorial and presidential elections, breaking news, and plenty of severe weather.
While in the California desert, she was part of an award-winning evening news team at KMIR, an NBC affiliate. She covered wildfires, earthquakes, the environmental crisis at the Salton Sea, the Route 91 Music Festival in Las Vegas, and Palm Springs’ historic election of 2017.
Sara grew up in Arroyo Grande, Calif., a small beach and ranching community on the state's beautiful central coast. She graduated from Gonzaga University and holds a meteorology certification from Mississippi State University.
Before her career in news, she lived in Chicago where she was a nanny and language instructor for Rosetta Stone.
When she’s not working, Sara is busy being a mom to her two daughters and Pekingese. She enjoys reading, cooking, and bad reality television.
