CONNECTICUT, USA — Tony Black joined the FOX61 team as a reporter in March 2022.

Prior to continuing his career in Connecticut, he was a reporter in Syracuse, New York for CNY Central, the NBC and CBS stations. His coverage in Central New York included the resignation of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the COVID-19 pandemic, and many stories involving law enforcement, schools, as well as solar panel projects coming to the region.

Tony graduated from Michigan State University in December 2019 with a degree in broadcast journalism. While at MSU, he was a member of the Emmy award-winning college newscast, Focal Point News.

Starting as a producer, he worked his way up to senior producer before becoming a reporter/anchor. He also interned at WOOD TV8, the NBC affiliate in Grand Rapids, and FOX 2 News in Detroit during his time in college.

Coming from the Great Lakes State, Tony has a strong love for the water and is excited to be right on the ocean coast. From dinners to day trips, he enjoys exploring the communities he calls home.
