Have you ever seen a young child with adults in the theater watching an R-rated movie?

Officially, children under the age of 17 are not allowed to attend an R rated movie without adult supervision. Now movie theater chains are going even farther.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Regal Cinemas will enforce a ban on youngsters under six years old from attending showings of R-rated movies all day long.

Regal Cinemas has movie theaters in Waterbury, Waterford and Stonington.

Other chains, such as AMC and Cinemark ban children up to 6 from attending shows after 6 p.m.
