CVS Health to Hire 50,000 in Response to Pandemic
CVS Health has plans to immediately fill 50,000 full-time, part-time and temporary roles across the country. Roles include store associates, home delivery drivers, distribution center employees and member/customer service professionals. The company will utilize a technology-enabled hiring process that includes virtual job fairs, virtual interviews and virtual job tryouts. Many roles will be filled by existing CVS Health clients who have had to furlough workers, including Hilton and Marriott.

Dollar General is hiring

Dollar General has announced it will double its hiring rate and hire up to 50,000 new employees to keep up with the demand for household essentials during the coronavirus pandemic. 

“We are proud to serve as one of America’s essential retailers, and we believe our customers are relying on us now more than ever to provide an affordable, convenient retail option,” said Kathy Reardon, Dollar General’s senior vice president and chief people officer in a statement. “The Dollar General family continues to do its part in helping our customers and neighbors during these unprecedented times.

With so many stores and restaurants closed due to COVID-19, there is one major player who has put out the help wanted sign -- no surprise they are ones charged with trying to stock your grocery store shelves. Cheshire based Bozzuto's Inc. says they are running their food distribution warehouses 24/7 and looking for extra support. Scott Grove, the vice president for human resources at Bozzuto's said, "We need help in our warehouse, we need diesel techs, we need marketing people." The 75-year old grocery service giant also praised their current workforce that is feverishly trying to keep up with demand.

Amazon looks to hire 100,000 to keep up with orders amid coronavirus pandemic
Amazon said Monday that it needs to hire 100,000 people across the U.S. to keep up with a crush of orders as the coronavirus spreads and keeps more people at home, shopping online. The online retailer will also temporarily raise pay by $2 an hour through the end of April for hourly employees, who work at its warehouses, delivery centers and Whole Foods grocery stores.
