The Shore Line Trolley Museum is looking for all types of volunteers and will be kicking off the year with its annual trolley operator training class.
The Trolley Operator training class is a comprehensive 5-week full day Saturday program with combined on-site and online instruction. You’ll receive hands-on training on operating the cars and handling all aspects of the railway, historical information, and public speaking skills.
The class starts on Feb. 25 at the museum. You must be 18 to volunteer as a trolley operator. Visit their website, email the museum at info@shorelinetrolley.org or call at (203) 467-6927 for more information. Space is limited.
The training fee is $100 which includes your $45 membership dues for the 2023 season. The fee includes all printed and online training materials, your engraved name tag, and your brass hat badge engraved with your personal membership number.
The museum is also looking for volunteers as special event coordinators, tour guides, as well as volunteer work for gardening and landscaping, painting and carpentry, administrative, electrical, and restoration work.

Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury is hiring for 300 positions for the 2023 season.
Available positions include ride operators, lifeguards, customer service representatives, food service, retail sales and several other positions.
The park provides lifeguard training and certification for its personnel.
Employee perks include flexible schedules, in-park discounts and 20% off tuition at Post University.

The Parks and Recreation department in East Hartford is now accepting applications for its summer 2023 positions.
Positions include:
Lifeguard - Must be at least 15 years old and have current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding OR be able to successfully complete a course before the start of the summer season.
Camp Counselor - Must be at least 16 years old. Responsible for planning and leading activities for children in a group setting while supervising them.
Park Ranger - Must be at least 18 years old. Tasks include opening and securing facilities, supervising facilities during events and rentals, enforce policies.
