MANCHESTER, Conn. — Lucky Taco in Manchester has closed its doors after almost nine years on Main Street. This comes after the Mexican eatery announced the closing of their takeout kitchen, Lucky TaGo on Purnell Place in February.
The owners said in a Facebook post Sunday afternoon that the decision to close the restaurant was made after the COVID-19 crisis aftermath became too much for the small business.
"It's a sad day indeed, but we are so thankful for all of you who have loved us for so long," the restaurant said in its post.
"It is no secret that the restaurant industry is suffering and Lucky Taco is not safe from the COVID fallout. We are struggling to stay afloat these days and while we are hopeful that spring will bring more customers, we are still battling with supply chain issues, staffing shortages, and ridiculous price hikes in our cost of goods," the owners said in a statement after announcing the closure of their takeout kitchen last month.
Lucky Taco continues to have a location in Vernon where tacos similar to the Manchester location can be found.
