Subway moving corporate headquarters to Shelton after decades in Milford

All functions of the company’s existing Milford team will transition to the new space. The estimated move to the location is in the spring of 2023.

SHELTON, Conn. — Subway’s global headquarters are moving from Milford to Shelton, the company announced Monday.

Earlier this month, FOX61 reported the company was considering moving the corporate offices from Milford – where they have been located for decades – to somewhere in Fairfield county.

The company said in a statement Monday that the move involved a 15-year commitment for a nearly 90,000-square-foot world-class modernized space in the heart of the Shelton business district.

“We explored multiple options as we started on the journey to refresh our offices in Connecticut, taking into consideration the community we’ve been a part of for nearly 50 years, while also ensuring we’re able to provide our employees an exceptional workplace experience both professionally and personally,” said CEO John Chidsey. “We’re extremely excited about our new location in Shelton that will feature an upgraded, modernized workspace as well as outstanding amenities within the corporate complex.”

The new headquarters will be located at 1 Corporate Drive in Shelton and will officer a range of on-site conveniences including multiple dining options, state-of-the-art fitness centers, recreation activities, medical facilities, parking and childcare centers.

“This move is all about enhancing our employee experience,” said Bill Ekstrom, Subway Director of Business Services. “In addition to being able to offer many additional features and an elevated, contemporary space, it was of utmost importance that we found a location that would provide minimal disruption to our employees. The close proximity to our current Milford home – just 10 miles down the road – will help us do just that, plus provide more services that will allow employees to take care of errands and personal needs on site.”
