Waypoint Spirits in Bloomfield celebrates the small batch

“Support your own state and what is made right here.”

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — There is reason to raise a glass or two in Bloomfield as Waypoint Spirits are making sure of that. They're one of a handful of distilleries in the state and the owners are making a point to make sure that their craft bottles celebrate Connecticut.

"Here we make vodka, gin, rum, canned cocktails, bourbons – we make anything spirit based that you want," said Tony Tine, one of three partners who own Waypoint.

Fellow partner and Tony’s brother Joe Tine said that they have come a long way since navigating the pitfalls of the pandemic – they took over Waypoint in 2020.

"It was a challenge, but we’ve persevered, but we’ve seen the needle move forward for us," Joe recalled.

When the Tines took over in 2020, Waypoint only made three variations of spirits, today they have expanded to 18.

With a decorative tap room, a creative bar food and brunch menu plus the chance to see the manufacturing process in motion, Joe Tine added, “we do tours and tastings, just come out and enjoy it.”

He went on to say, “support your own state and what’s made right here.”

His brother Tony then said, “we’re hoping that people really get behind Waypoint and Connecticut as a whole.”
