HARTFORD — Firefighters responded to reports of a working fire at a 4-story apartment located at 22 Elliott Street Friday.
Hartford Deputy Fire Chief Cucuta says companies were dispatched at 12:57 p.m., and the first unit arrived by 1 p.m. They confirmed a working fire in a 3rd floor apartment, and immediately transmitted a 2nd alarm because of the size of the apartment building and the possible need to evacuate the occupants.
But visible fire was knocked down within a minute or two, containing it to the apartment in which it started.
Cucuta says one firefighter sustained a minor injury; he was treated and released.
The family in the affected apartment was displaced; Dep. Chief Cucuta said it was possible people in other departments were displaced, but he could not say for sure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
