BRIDGEPORT – I-95 Northbound was closed for several hours Saturday morning after a fiery head-on crash.
It happened about 4am at exit 27A in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport Police say a wrong-way driver collided head-on with a tractor-trailer, and both vehicles became engulfed in flames. State Police at Troop G say that 1 person suffered serious injuries in the that crash; two others were less severely injured.
Bridgeport Fire and Police Departments, and Connecticut State Police responded to the scene.
The road closure lead to backups of over two-and-a-half miles at one point. The road was reopened about 10:30 a.m.
No word yet on the severity of the injuries, or if any charges will be filed.
