California urges people to vacation in state, boost tourism
California tourism leaders are urging residents to spend their pent-up travel dollars exploring their home state as coronavirus case numbers stay low.
The tourism industry is reeling from a steep decline in revenue, plummeting from $145 billion in 2019 to $65 billion last year.
The state of nearly 40 million people has been among the most conservative in the U.S. with strict restrictions in place to curb the pandemic. It's gradually reopening but tourism revenue is not expected to top pre-pandemic levels until 2024. Tourism officials are calling on Californians to do their patriotic duty and vacation within the state to bolster the industry.

CVS locations in Target are offering a $5 off coupon for all who those who get their shots at a CVS location in Target.
San Francisco, Los Angeles move to least restrictive tier
While most counties remain in the orange tier, California's most populated counties and one other move to the yellow tier, the least restive tier in the state's coronavirus reopening plan.
The California Department of Public Health updated its data, allowing for Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Trinity counties to move to the yellow tier, allowing them to loosen their COVID-19 guidelines for businesses and activities. Inyo County will also be able to move to the orange tier with the updated data.
Stockton Arena reopens mass vaccination site
The mass coronavirus vaccination site at the Stockton Arena is reopening after a temporary closure.
On April 27, Kaiser Permanente told ABC10 the mass vaccination site would be temporarily closed due to a lack of people wanting to get the vaccine at the Stockton Arena. It originally planned to reopen on May 10 for second dose appointments.
The site opened on April 7. Walk-ups and appointments are welcome. Vaccines are available 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 through Friday, May 7, and again on Monday, May 10.
