Date night makes a comeback! Dating advice as more people get vaccinated for COVID-19

Kate O'Connor with 'It's Just Lunch Cleveland' offers some expert advice as the dating scene returns.

CLEVELAND — “We’re very excited to get back to date night now that everything is back open," one Cleveland couple said.

You heard right! Date night is back in full swing!

According to dating service expert Kate O’Connor with "It's Just Lunch Cleveland," a lot of people have been waiting to get back to dating. She even noticed an increase in dating where it’s still virtual, but people are still meeting out in public.

"People are vaccinated, so dating is definitely happening again," O'Connor said.

Whether you were in a relationship or dating, the pandemic probably cramped your style. With restaurants closed and bars shut down, there was little to no room for love in 2020.

“During quarantine we just got creative," Jordyn Parks said. "We did puzzles. They were hard to find, but we found them.”

Marcel and Jordyn, who have been together for two years, say they are glad to get back to Sunday Funday.

“I couldn’t be more excited," the couple agreed. "I’m very excited. I like being out.”

O’Connor say’s it’s been a wild ride for match making.

“It took a few months for us to get back on track, but at the moment things are definitely picking back up within the last two months.”

So now that the wait is sort of over, what do we do next?

“I would just make sure you are having your options. Don't just go for the first person that's telling you, 'You look attractive or I'm having so much fun with you,' because there could be somebody out there that's also just as amazing and you wouldn't that because you're just settling for the first thing. I always want people to have options if they are going to be dating.”

But always remember to play it safe.
