FARMINGTON--On a beautiful summer's evening people gathered in the historic Sunken Garden at the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington to hear some poetry.

The annual summer event began in 1992, and has expanded over time to include some truly remarkable poets.

On Wednesday, FOX 61's Sarah Cody emceed a night of the summer festival, which spans several dates over three months. On Wednesday, the headliners were Edward Hirsch and Clare Rossini. There was also music, courtesy of The Lords of Liechenstein.

Meanwhile, two more events will be held as part of the festival this summer. On August 7, U.S. poet laureate Juan Felipe Herrera will headline, and then on August 17 young poets will show what they've got.
