TORRINGTON, Conn. — The intersection of Torringford and Greenwoods Road in Torrington was closed Wednesday morning after an unoccupied Torrington school bus and motorcycle were involved in a crash.
The operator of the motorcycle sustained serious life-threatening injuries from the crash and was flown to the hospital by life star but was later pronounced dead. The identity of the injured person is not yet known.
Investigation shows that at the time of the crash, the motorcycle was traveling south on Torringford Street and the school bus was traveling north on Torringford Street while making a left-hand turn onto Greenwoods Road.
No children were on the school bus at the time of the accident.
The Torrington Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is investigating this motor vehicle crash. If any member of the public has information or video surveillance of the area of the crash, we ask that they contact Officer Dallas at 860-489-2000 who is the lead investigator in this case.
