STORRS– While a concert was going on at Gampel Pavillion at UConn, more than a dozen concertgoers were being taken to the hospital.

On Friday night mutual aid needed to be called from Tolland to help transport 15 patients to Windham Hospital and Manchester Memorial Hospital. Most of the students seemed to be suffering from alcohol intoxication, but further testing will need to be done on the patients when they arrive at the hospitals.

The concert was the UConn Spring Concert featuring Schoolboy Q and A$AP Ferg. About 4,000 turned out for the show, which went on as planned.

No alcohol is allowed in Gampel during concerts, and students are checked at the entrance.

UConn spokesperson Stephanie Reitz has confirmed that two arrests were made at the concert, including one “non-student” charged with illegal alcohol possession and trespass, and one UConn student charged with interfering with an officer.
