CINCINNATI, Ohio–Less than a week after the internet turned on 50 Cent for posting a video of himself harassing an airport employee, who he accused of being high on drugs but who in reality has autism and social anxiety, he has issued an apology.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, apologized to Andrew Farrell, the 19-year-old airport employee, and his parents, who asked that as a show of good faith he donate $10,000 to Autism Speaks. Jackson ended up donating 10 times that amount, writing a check to the foundation for $100,000.

Autism Speaks is a science and advocacy organization working to research causes, prevention and treatment of autism, as well as raise awareness and advocate for people who have it.

“We thank Andrew Farrell and his family, who graciously turned an unfortunate situation into something positive,” the organization wrote in a statement posted on its Facebook page after Jackson’s donation was announced. Here’s the full statement:
