BOSTON--The first ever Connecticut Special Olympian had her dream come true Tuesday night: she sang the national anthem at Fenway Park before the Red Sox game!

Ashley Lebeau, 21, comes from Danielson, and got the honor after her mother entered her in a Special Olympics contest.

The outgoing cheerleader, hospital volunteer and singer spoke to FOX 61 over the weekend in anticipation of the huge honor. Now, she's followed through.

Unfortunately, Lebeau's favorite team lost to the Chicago White Sox in the game after her performance.

When asked what advice she would give others after she had her dreams come true, Lebeau told FOX 61, "Well I would say, keep reaching for your goals and follow your dreams. It's not about trying, it's about reaching your goals and being able to do what you can."
