DARIEN — A major crash on a Connecticut highway has left a passenger dead and four people seriously injured.
State police say a 19-year-old woman crashed her Volkswagen Passat with four people in the car on Interstate 95 north in Darien just after 6 a.m. Sunday.
The woman reportedly took the Exit 10 off ramp and “veered off the road to the right for an unknown reason” before hitting a tree.
Nineteen-year-old passenger Victor Emmanuel Deleon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and three other passengers were transported to hospitals with suspected serious injuries. All five occupants were Norwalk residents, ages 19 and 20.
The crash remains under investigation.
