HARTFORD — Former Connecticut Gov. John Rowland is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review his most recent public corruption conviction.
A spokeswoman for the court confirms that the Republican filed his petition on Monday.
A federal jury in 2014 convicted Rowland of seven charges including conspiracy and falsifying records. He was sentenced in March 2015 to 30 months and a $35,000 fine.
A federal appeals court upheld Rowland’s convictions in June. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg then extended the deadline for Rowland to ask the high court to hear his case from Sept. 15 to Nov. 14.
Rowland’s lawyer did not immediately comment. Rowland served as governor from 1995 to 2004, when he resigned and was sentenced to prison in a different corruption scandal.
Rowland reported to prison in late September.
