GLASTONBURY -- Fast-food restaurant b.good in Glastonbury's Shops at Somerset Square is donating 5 percent of its proceeds on Tuesday to the Glastonbury Food Bank.

Every restaurant in the Boston-based chain is participating in the event tomorrow, each giving their proceeds to a different local organization. b.good said its locations will repeat the new initiative every quarter.

"Hopefully, we get really busy tomorrow," said b.good employee Elizabeth Martinez.

In Connecticut, there are locations in Canton, Glastonbury, Fairfield and Greenwich.

b.good restaurants already source much of their produce locally, helping to bolster the local economy. The new initiative is designed to strengthen that community connection. "It's really the core mission behind the brand, to make every community that they're in better," said b.good District Manager Mat Mizak.

Customers are also on board with the effort. "I love it," said Laura Kretzmer of Glastonbury. "I love it. I'm all in to helping others, and if we can do it in the same town, even better."

The Glastonbury Food bank operates year round, providing not only food to families in need, but services for seniors and help for families during the holidays and at the start of the school year.
