“We believe that there is a strong possibility our case may be related to the most recent case in West Hartford, and we have been working with them to share information,” Manchester police spokesman Capt. Christopher Davis said Thursday.

The Manchester robbery occurred at about 10 a.m. on May 11 at JB Expo Store in the Manchester Parkade on West Middle Turnpike. Two men, one armed with a handgun, stole an undisclosed amont of jewelry.

Surveillance video showed the two men entering the store. One brandished a silver handgun while the other man, who was wearing a mask, jumped over the counter to confront the clerk. The video showed the suspect tripping as he tried to jump back over the counter, smashing a display case in the process.

The clerk suffered minor injuries. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Manchester police at 860-645-5537.

On Monday afternoon in West Hartford, two men armed with handguns robbed Solid Gold Jewelry & Diamond at 18A Kane St., police said. The men jumped the counter and stole jewelry that was hanging on a back wall, witnesses told police.

The robbers were in and out of the store, in the Prospect Shopper Plaza, in less than a minute and fled before police arrived. Police in that case were searching for a newer model car, possibly a Nissan, with tinted windows and dealer plates.

One thief was wearing a black jacket, dark blue Adidas pants with stripes down the leg and black sneakers with white soles. The other man was wearing torn or worn jeans, a black ski mask and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone who saw anything or who has information is asked to call West Hartford police at 860-523-5203.
