NEW HAVEN -- Police are investigating two shootings that injured two separate people overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
First, crews were called to 437 Eastern Street for a gunshot wound to a man in one of Cornell Scott Ridge Apartments.
When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old New Haven resident suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was taken to the hospital. Police say there was a car at the scene that was also struck by bullets.
Then, around 1:20 a.m., police were called to the Farnam Courts housing complex on a report of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered a 22-year-old man, also a New Haven resident, with a gunshot wound to the pelvis. He was rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was listed in stable, but critical, condition.
Police did not say if the shootings are related, and are investigating both incidents.
