NEW HAVEN--At Amistad High School in New Haven, there is a 100 percent acceptance rate for seniors going to college.
According to Amistad Principal Claire Polcrack, "We push every student that comes to our school, and make a promise to them that they will gain a college acceptance."
"It takes work, it takes effort, it takes motivation, it takes focus from our students" to earn that 100-percent acceptance rate, Polcrack said.
And because of that achievement -– the school has been recognized by US News and World Report as the number 3 high school in the state. And it’s the top public school--the other two are magnets.
