Purple Heart Homes helps to build houses for injured vets around the country.

The town of Manchester has helped with the land for on in Connecticut and Friday some extra muscle helped with a major phase of the construction.

The house is for Staff Sergent Sandra Lee, who sustained a traumatic brain injury while serving in Iraq and still suffers from PTSD. The house was 1200 square feet, they’re doubling it size to 2400 sq feet. Among those building the house is New York City firefighters and Newtown police officers.

Purple Heart Homes have been built for injured vets across the country, they say this house will be done in July.
