Ernesto Castro sued seven Bridgeport police officers in federal court last year alleging they used excessive force and violated his constitutional rights in November 2016.
Lawyers in the case recently told a judge there was a settlement that needs to be approved by the Bridgeport City Council. Terms were not disclosed.
Police said Castro had a gun in his waistband and officers punched him repeatedly when he ignored their commands and fought with them.
“Live PD” only showed the aftermath, with Castro in handcuffs with a bloody face.
Castro pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to 34 months of conditional discharge.
