School bus, car and Jeep crash in Watertown

WATERTOWN — A school bus. a car and a Jeep crashed Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called at 4 p.m. to the intersection of Nova Scotia Hill Road and Buckingham Road in Watertown.

According to police a Toyota sedan was stopped on Nova Scotia Hill Rd at a stop sign. At the same time, a school bus traveling northbound on Buckingham Rd. was waiting to take a left on to Nova Scotia Hill Rd. The bus driver stopped and waved at the sedan, signaling for it to go first. Meanwhile, a Jeep was also traveling southbound on Buckingham and had the right-of-way. The Toyota, which wanted to go straight across the road, drove ahead without looking in both directions. As a result, the Jeep struck the front of the smaller car, which pushed the Jeep head-on into the school bus.The driver of the Jeep was sent to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

There were 10 children on the bus at the time. The children were all medically evaluated at the scene and were found to be uninjured.

The Toyota driver was also reportedly uninjured.
