German scientists have discovered that, on average, people who come home from work really stressed out don’t wind up feeling any better if they spend their down time just watching TV or playing computer games.

The researchers found, somewhat ironically, that the more people were fatigued, the more inclined they were to feel guilty about relaxing.  The subjects reported feeling like they were procrastinating.  They also reported having higher levels of guilt and stronger feelings of failure.

In other words, the people who needed to relax the most were the least able to do so.

You may feel as if you’re losing your mind when you don’t get enough sleep, and there may be some truth to that.

A new study found that lack of sleep can lead to false memories.

Scientists have said that sleep-deprived people may recall events that never happened!  To help prove this, they did an experiment where they asked people to look at crime scene photos and recall what they saw the next morning.  Those who got a good night’s sleep were able to accurately describe the photos, but those who were sleep-deprived couldn’t correctly remember what they saw, and added false details.

Researchers said the problem affects people who sleep five or fewer hours a night.
