BRIDGEPORT — Kyle Navin, charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of his parents, Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin, appeared in court Wednesday.
The hearing only lasted for 1 minute, and was continued until January 20. During that hearing Navin will have to inform the court if he and his lawyer plan to file a probable cause hearing.
Navin didn’t speak during the appearance.
Navin, 27, is facing two counts of murder and two counts of murder with special circumstances. He was first arrested on September 8 for federal firearms charges and has been denied bail since. The firearms charges were dropped without prejudice on December 1 so that the state murder case could proceed.
His girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with the deaths of her boyfriend’s parents in November.
Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin, of Easton, were reported missing on August 7 by their sister-in-law. Police said their son Kyle was the last person to see them.
