WETHERSFIELD – Police say a large water main break closed a major thoroughfare at the Rocky Hill-Wethersfield town line early Saturday morning.
About 6 a.m., police shut down the Silas Deane Highway (Route 99) at the intersection of Town Line Road. That’s right at the bottom of the Exit 24 ramps from I-91. By 8 a.m. they said the road was reopened and the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) was making repairs.
Police are asking people to avoid the area; no word yet on when it repairs will be completed.
