NORWICH -- Monday afternoon, Norwich police were called to the scene of the city's first homicide in two years. But Tuesday, police said residents of Spaulding Street should not be concerned for their own safety.

Casey Chadwick, 25, a certified nurses' assistant, was found dead in her apartment just after 2:30 p.m. Monday. Police said there were obvious signs of trauma on her body, but released no further details.

A neighbor said Chadwick and her boyfriend lived in their second-floor apartment for about a year and that the couple was very quiet.

A police source tells Fox CT Chadwick's boyfriend is not a suspect at this time.

A friend of Chadwick, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was a real home-body who liked hanging out with her dog and her boyfriend.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Chadwick's family pay for funeral expenses.
