College fair returns | FOX61 Student News

The college fair ceased when the pandemic struck, leaving many students less informed when looking for potential futures.

SUFFIELD, Conn — Story by Phil Akpinar Suffield High School

Once a year at Suffield High School, the guidance department arranges and runs the college fair which showcases universities and options for students seeking higher education and other professional opportunities.

And for many years, this has been how high schoolers discover potential schools and possibilities, through the recruiters of their institution.

The college fair ceased when the pandemic struck, leaving many students less informed when looking for potential futures.

This can create anxiety and uncertainty especially among many seniors.

Now the college fair is rolling back around post pandemic, however this time, the prospective students now have a pandemic behind them.

How are the students adapting? The Suffield High School staff provide some insight into the minds of Suffield students as to what they might be going through.

Some Students say that having this unique experience has made them stronger, while others say it was a burnout-causing obstacle.

Through all of it, perseverance is a valuable and admirable trait that many students have developed, and could be the silver lining to this challenging period.
