Wearing PJs for a good cause | FOX61 Student News

It's a fundraiser for Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Story by Natalie Jopeck, Hall High School

Here at Hall High School, it’s annual Pajama Day, a fundraising event for Connecticut Children’s hospital.

Students are encouraged to wear pajamas and are given the opportunity to donate in their homeroom classes.

I spoke to Mr. Zittoun, the principal of Hall High School, who expressed his personal relationship to this fundraiser, as well as its benefits and goals. “Pj day is this amazing event that has really grown over I think about 10 years now.”

“I know here for Hall High School, I know for me personally, my daughter has spent a lot of time at Connecticut Children's over the last five years and has gone through a lot of treatment there so Connecticut Children's holds a very special place in my heart.”

“Every one of the 169 school districts in Connecticut have at least one school signed up for PJ day.”

We saw an abundance of pajamas today, ranging from Hello Kitty, to flannel, and more!

I was also able to interview a couple of students, who shared the impact Hall made for the fundraiser.

“For Hall, the online donations are over $3,000  and for the district was $12,000.”

“And our goal is around $15,000 but we haven’t even counted the money that we’ve received in person so we will definitely be on track to surpass that.”

If you’d like to donate, feel free to go to the website: ConnecticutChildren'sFoundation.org.
