HARTFORD - The first thing most visitors to Suffield see are the historic homes on Main Street. Main street is lined with over a mile of sidewalks on both sides of the street which make for a great walking experience. There is ample parking in the Suffield Village lot, by Highland Park Market.  Here are some of the attractions that Suffield has to offer:

  • Suffield Museums – Hatheway House & King House Historical Home Museums
  • Bed and Breakfasts – Lily House (home of basketfullofct.com Gift Baskets with only CT items), Spencer on Main, Kingsfield Bed and Breakfast – All Historic homes. Two located within the Main Street walking district.
  • Suffield Academy – Private Boarding School - Founded in 1833 – Historic Building and Grounds.
  • Restaurants – Many within the walking district. Covering many types of food. Tosca, Francescos, Suffield Pizza, Pacifica, The Sunset Tavern (Open to the public with views of the Suffield Country Club private golf course), 3 Figs, M&M’s Breakfast.
  • Shopping – Moxy Boutique, Chic Apparel - Trendy Accessories - Unique gifts
  • Suffield Players Theatre at Mapleton Hall – Historic Meetinghouse converted to a Playhouse. Winter Show - Five Women Wearing the Same Dress
  • Canal Bike Trail – Views of Bald Eagles and a wide bike path leading from Suffield South to Windsor Locks with on the Connecticut River.
  • West Suffield - Rails to Trails Bike path.
  • Babbs Beach Park – West Suffield – Historic Roller Rink / Summer Resort Beach Facility. Currently being restored with the beach planning to be open in 2017. Outdoor Concerts also planned for 2017.
  • Hilltop Farm – George M. Hendee of Indian Motorcycle fame founded Hilltop Farm in Suffield in 1913. Charles Stroh, a prominent state attorney and public servant, bought the farm from Hendee in 1940. Currently being restored for functions and is available to tour. Facility sponsored events are held all year-long at the facility.
  • Executive Valet – Ski Sun and Fun Show offering the lowest rate valet parking of the year only at this show. $35 a week prepaid cards sold at the booth.
