STORRS -- On Wednesday, UConn football coaches, head coach Bob Diaco, and players held a fun and exciting night. The goal: education about the ins-and-outs of America's greatest game -- football!

It's the 3rd annual Women's 101 Clinic. Participants enjoyed a cocktail hour, shopping, a silent auction and a meet-and-greet before taking the field with the team for light drills and on-field fun.

"We're going to be able to engage a couple hundred women, and really what goes on behind the scenes, and really developing a college football team," said David Benedict, the university's athletic director, before the event.

In April, FOX 61's female on-air staff went up to UConn to have a preview of the clinic.

The event was for women 21 or over, and was held at The Burton Family Football Complex and the Mark R. Shenkman Training Center, located at 505 Jim Calhoun Way in Storrs. Those who registered got a jersey, food, a souvenir item and two tickets to a Husky home game this fall.

Proceeds benefited UConn Health-Women's Cancer Prevention & Research.
