Paul Mounds appointed new Chief of Staff for Lamont Administration

Lamont made the announcement Thursday.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Ryan Drajewicz is stepping down from his position as Chief of Staff and Paul Mounds is taking his place. Lamont made the announcement Thursday.

“Paul is incredibly talented and one of the hardest working people with whom I’ve had the opportunity to work, and I am excited to have him serving in this new capacity and helping to guide our administration in our efforts to grow our economy, add jobs, streamline government, and stay true to our core mission of serving the people of Connecticut,” Governor Lamont said, noting that Mounds will become the first African American to serve as chief of staff to a Connecticut governor. “I appreciate Ryan’s dedication and service to our state. He has been an important partner as we began our administration and I thank him for being a partner in our efforts to lead our office.”

Mounds was operating as Lamont's Chief Operating Officer. Before working for the Governor, Mounds was vice president of policy and communications for the Connecticut Health Foundation. He also worked for the former Governor Dannel Malloy and Senator Ricahrd Blumenthal/ 

Josh Geballe will replace Mounds. Geballe is the commissioner of DAS. 

“It is an honor to be part of the amazing team of commissioners that Governor Lamont has assembled,” Geballe said. “I look forward to working even more closely with them to drive our state forward.”

Lamont expressed that Drajewicz told him that he accept the position but would not hold it for long. He told Lamont that he would only serve for one year.
