WATERFORD, Conn. — A two-vehicle crash on Route 85 early Thursday morning closed the roadway and sent three people to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The Waterford Police Department said the crash occurred around 7:17 a.m. after a commercial truck exiting a private business on 969 Hartford Turnpike attempted to turn left onto Route 85 and was struck by a vehicle traveling north.
All three occupants in the vehicles were transported by ambulance to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London with injured that appeared to not be life-theatening.
The roadway remains closed due to a minor diesel fuel leak from one of the vehicles. DEEP has been requested for the spill.
The crash remains under investigation.
