Warming trend, 80s on the way. Watching storms for late Wednesday.

The Storm Prediction Center has southwest Connecticut in the marginal risk for severe weather. While odds favor big storms miss us, it's worth watching Wednesday.

There is a chance for a shower in spots tonight with low temperatures in the 50s.

Our warming trend continues Wednesday with highs near 80 degrees. There is a chance for an early morning shower, then an afternoon shower or storm. But in between, most of the day will be dry and warm.

The Storm Prediction Center has included southwest Connecticut in a marginal risk for severe weather. As of right now, the severe thunderstorm potential looks much greater south and west of Connecticut but we'll be keeping an eye on things just in case. Showers and storms will be hit or miss Wednesday afternoon which means not every town will see one (that's unfortunate, we need the rain).

Thursday is looking dry and warm...borderline HOT with highs in the mid-upper 80s.

That warmth will stick around into the first half of this weekend before cooling off Sunday into early next week.

There are a few opportunists for showers in the forecast but nothing that looks to erase how crispy everything is turning out there!
