HARTFORD, Conn. — You may be wondering how to keep your pets safe this fall, as you enjoy the cool weather with them outdoors. That’s why we’re pleased to bring you another Pet Parasite Forecast, focusing on one of the tick-borne diseases that pose a threat to our pets – ehrlichiosis.
Throughout the state, you’ll see that the forecasted infection rate is moderate to severely high with the highest forecasted infection rate in Tolland county. Moving west, Hartford county has a high forecast infection and to the east, Windham county has a forecast infection rate that is higher than years past.
So if you’re planning to enjoy some time outside with your pet in River Park, Riverside Park or Mansfield Hollow State Park this weekend, be sure to take the proper precautions to keep your pets safe.
